Before you can submit a coaching application you will need to create a Spordle account and get a Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) number. To setup a Spordle account please following this setup guide:

If you already have a HCR you can add it to your Spordle profile by doing the following:

• Navigate to your Spordle Dashboard
• On the left menu click on "Members"
• Click the "+" button to link a member
• Enter first name, last name, DOB and relationship (Myself)
• Click "Link Profile"
• If a profile is found it will add it to your profile as a linked member
• You can also link your child's profile to your account if desired

If you do not have a HCR (or are unsure) please email registrar@barracudashockey.ca with your full name and date of birth and they will search for your account and request a HCR for you if needed.

If you have a HCR that was setup by a different association (for example, Rustlers, ASHL, etc.) we ask that you contact registrar@barracudashockey.ca with your full name, date of birth and HCR. Our registrar will confirm we have the necessary permissions to use your HCR within our association. Please note that if our association does not have permissions to use your HCR you will get a verification error during the application process in the next step.

In the "Sport Info" section, for the "Hockey Canada Registration Number" field please enter your Hockey Canada Registration (HCR) number. Do not submit your child's HCR number. If you are unsure of your HCR number please see Step 1 - Spordle / Hockey Canada Registration Number above.

In the "Additional Participant Info" section, for the "Hockey Canada Division" please select "NA".

In the "Additional Parent Info" section, for the "Coaching Position" field select your desired coaching position (head coach or assistant coach).

In the "Additional Parent Info" section, for the "Certification" fields indicate to the best of your ability if you have completed the certification or not. If you are unsure on a certification select "No". Our Risk team will work to verify the certifications and follow up via email as needed. As of June 1st 2024, Hockey Canada has transitioned both the Coach 1 and Coach 2 to a new set of courses called Hockey Canada Coach 1 and Hockey Canada Coach 2 with specific modules for each division. You will see both the legacy and new pathways listed on the form. Select "Yes" to the certificate pathway you have completed "No" to the pathway you have not completed. Currently the legacy pathway certifications (Coach 1, Coach 2) remain valid.

If you would like to coach multiple teams, please submit a separate application for each division in which your child is participating.

If you experience verification issues with your HCR number when submitting the form, please contact registrar@barracudashockey.ca with the following information:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• HCR number
• Description of the error message

All coaches and team volunteers who interact with our players must submit to a criminal record check (CRC). They are valid for 2 years. If you submitted a CRC one last year you do not need to submit one this year.

Please use the link and access code below to electronically submit a CRC. Our association does require the CRC to be completed through this process so that it automatically updates into the Spordle application. There is no cost to you to perform this check.

The Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT) is a required certification for all Team Officials to have completed before participation in any practice or games.
